You don't get a medal for doing your damn job

This is in line with the problem I had last week with everyone falling over themselves to congratulate the Clintons for supporting Barack Obama. Bill & Hillary shouldn't have received accolades for doing what they did: they SHOULD have gotten kicked in the ass for taking too damn long to getting around to it.

Today, same thing. Bush is skipping day one of the KKK/GOP convention to monitor Hurricane Gustav. Why? Because that's what he SHOULD be doing. Also, unlike with Katrina, he has learned to stay the hell out of the way and quit endangering people's lives.

Hey, he's a utter dumbass, but even he can be taught. Sorta. Eventually.

Meanwhile, McCain is taking this opportunity to scale down his convention so that it isn't compared to the Democrat's and found sorely lacking. Unlike Bush, he's bringing his Old Coot and MILF party to Mississippi, probably to tie up a critical highway where folks in ambulances will die waiting for his motorcade to come through.

In case you forgot, when Katrina hit, Bush was nowhere in command of the situation. Instead, he was having birthday cake with McCain:

I would give them credit for learning a lesson, but like I said, it's their f'in job to get it right THE FIRST TIME!
