Granted, any team might have done this, but given that it was the stinking Cardinals who raised a kid's big dream hopes and then took a steaming dump on them, leaving him with nothing, it makes it particularly odious.
I hope the kid becomes a franchise player - anywhere but St. Louis. And in Yankee Stadium of course.
