This is why I don't go to church anymore. The Catholic Church is threatening to shut down all it's social services in D.C. if the city approves same sex marriage.

Actually, I hope this is how it goes. I hope every bigoted "Christian" organization in this nation runs hard to the right wing and turns off common sense decent Americans. That way, the only churches left should be morally responsible ones. Or so I hope.
I caught part of this interview with Episcopalian Bishop Eugene Robinson today that focused a bit on the subject. At one point, some hate-filled caller phoned in arguing some bizarre theory that gays can't be married because they aren't different. By that logic, I say we ban marriage between people of the same religion or even race. You know, because different genders are as relevant as either of those and many other things, right?
