Compared to the civilized world - which we are moving away from in alarming ways - we don't pay our teaches enough. Nor do we give them the proper respect. Nor do we try to recruit the best people for the job.
And now we've got Republicans trying to punish those who do the job despite the low level of respect for the work they do? I may be unemployed but I'm kind of glad I got out of the field.
