I have always been a bit torn about protest songs. First, most of them are before my time and those who still use the same old songs - not to mention drum circles - seem to be as out of touch as those backward-thinking cretins they are protesting against. Second, other than making you feel good, it often does nothing to advance the cause. Hell, it probably turns off more people than anything.
That said, here are a few songs that have - in the main - stood the test of time.
They may still be of little value, but a lot of good music here at least.
