Shakesville: Rank (and File) Bigotry

Today’s Read This comes from a blog that tells Republicans that by appealing to hated and bigotry, they hatred and bigotry is what they get. You know, you reap what you sow. If you actually read those bibles you are thumping all the time, you’d know that.

And what are they sowing? Well first the Million Militia March, which wants to have a bunch of heavily armed anti-government treason bunnies and have them run amok on the Washington Mall.

You know, probably end up shooting up some gay couples, some non-white children, all good Republican values.

In Oklahoma City, a teabagger is arrested for offering to behead any police officers who might have arrested him during the Tax Day Double Entendre.

More on the nationwide problem that the few rational Republican politicians increasingly have with their bigoted Talibangelical supporters.

GOP Know-Nothings Fought Pandemic Preparedness

If anyone dies in this country from the swine flu, you can blame the GOP. They cut the last bit of funding for pandemic supplies that Bush had originally ordered from Obama’s stimulus bill.

It is no surprise that Karl Rove was at the head of the “let’s screw the safety of our nation” crowd. It is only slightly more surprisingly to find Maine’s Senator Gail Collins in the same boat. Indeed, to earn her vote for the stimulus, killing pandemic preparedness funding was one of her conditions. And one she is truly proud of.

Here are some sensible items concerning the flu.

Honestly, I do not think we’ll see much dire consequences of the swine flu, but it is good to know we have a government that is trying to be prepared and trying to inform the public without starting a riot. And if it weren’t for the backstabbing Fifth Columnists, we might even be more ready.

Meanwhile, in jackass conspiracy lands, Glenn Beck thinks this is all made up instead of a government being responsible. I kind of get his point as he’s never seen a Republican administration that isn’t playing games with people’s lives or has any ethical moral fiber to actually care for American citizens. This whole concept confuses him.

“Killing Machine”

One of the oddities of the online world is that Brandon Bird’s painting, as seen above, spawned a meme that Bea Arthur is humanity’s greatest weapon against the dreaded velociraptor threat. Obviously, yes, there are no velociraptors anymore (but don’t tell these guys). That said, since Bea Arthur passed away yesterday, should you feel any less safe than the day before?

They could be among us now, plotting behind the scenes and waiting to undermine us from within. I mean, we just had Evil Muppet Dick Cheney turn America into a Torture State. Stranger things HAVE happened.

We already have a Nazi Pope. Don’t be surprised if you have to take Communion from this guy soon.

Bea, you will be missed.

Texas ups order for flu drugs as doctors say not to panic

Traitor Rick has to be incredibly flexible today. First, after screaming about government spending and how he rejects stimulus money while whispering secession, he now wants the Feds to cough up flu meds for his state’s citizens.

Hold on there jackass. That Tamiflu was bought with FEDERAL tax dollars. You know, the same money you don’t want on principle. I, in general, don’t wish harm on Texas residents, but practice what you preach, ya know?

Oh, never mind. Turns out Traitor Rick has NO problem whatsoever in drumming up $2.7 million in campaign contributions from folks in DC. It technically isn’t the same thing, but at the same time it is.

Will any of this come up during his treasonous “state’s rights” forum? Probably not.
