How Christian Were the Founders? – NYTimes.com

A couple of my personal beefs with Rethugs are their twisting of our nation’s history as well as their insatiable need to teach our children outright lies. Here is yet another look at the rabid Talibangelical bastards trying to dumb down our nation’s textbooks.

Look, if you want to believe that Sarah Palin is a genius, the earth is only 6,000 year old and that abstinence only sex ed doesn’t lead to a rash (pun intended) of anal sex incidents, go for it. But don’t do it with my public tax dollars and don’t try to treat science as some form of archaic alchemy that doesn’t belong in a school curriculum.

Get bent, go home, go be Luddites somewhere way the hell away from the public sector. Our nation deserves better.

Also, just as some enlightenment on the thoughts of our Founding Fathers as it comes to organized religion. You know, just to add some context.

“Lighthouses are more useful than churches.” – Benjamin Franklin

“This would be the best of all possible worlds if there were no religion it it.” – John Adams

“Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man.” – Thomas Jefferson

Arnold Schwarzenegger: Tea Party Will ‘Twinkle And Disappear’

Every once in awhile, Arnold forgets he’s supposed to be some obstructionist Rethug and actually remembers all the rules to actually being a public servant that Sargent Shriver must have beat into his head. In those moments, he sounds like a credible politician. Too bad that guy hasn’t been around much of late. Hopefully he’s back to get his party whipped into some form of sanity.

Here is either the same interview or a followup in which he acts rationally and speaks as if there is more than one side to a story. Which, having this on FAUXNews, is pretty remarkable.

So, apparently, there may actually be Republicans who haven’t gone total Palinite or Talibangelical. Just not many of them though.

Like Saddam Hussein, Fox News’ Fourth Largest Investor, Saudi Prince Alwaleed, Funds Terror Through Donations to Families of Suicide Bombers » Pensito Review

See that smiling jackass up there? Yeah, he’s the fourth biggest contributor to FAUXNews. And when he’s not paying for racist, treasonous bullshit to be on American airwaves, he’s paying the families of suicide bombers to go kill women and children.

Of course, FAUX is now putting the hush alert out so you won’t be hearing anything bad about this ass clown or the Saudis from here on out.

Country first, huh?

Las Vegas Weekly : White-power movement is hiding among us

At least someone is investigating the racist cults living amongst us.

Granted, with the emergence of Palinites and Tea Baggers it is a lot easier to find them in a crowd, but it just makes it worse for all of us that they now feel validated.

Such ilk does not deserve a public face or any form of positive reinforcement. Someone should tell the GOP that. Not that it would help.

Joe Stack IRS attack: ‘hero’ debate heats up / The Christian Science Monitor – CSMonitor.com

So, the anti-government terrorist who rammed an IRS building with his plane is now a conservative hero. That, in a nutshell is everything you need to know about why conservatism is essentially anti-American.

They are terrorist sympathizers and their media mouthpiece at FAUXNews is funded by a jihadi funding terrorist sympathizer. Enough said.

Glenn Beck Advocates Secession | Mother Jones

Question: why is this jackass allowed to run around and preach treason to packed rooms of angry secessionists?

And why are they pissed solely because they lost a legal election and now have a black President?

Oh wait, I think I just answered that there at the end.

And John Stewart points out that Beck is a communist. In his own words.

Why Do Conservatives Make Excuses for White Terrorists?

great question that I wonder every time there’s some dumbass like McVeigh or Roemer or Stack.

Also, since a decorated Vietnam vet died in the attack, you’d think we’d focus more on him. However, it turns out that Vernon Hunter is black and thus apparently unworthy of coverage by our lily-white media.

Will Bunch points it out succintly: Hunter was murdered by Stack. A white guy with his own plane who didn’t want to pay taxes murdered a black civil servant who also served his country in uniform in a past war.

That’s about as clear an act or murder as you get. Adding the whole ramming a fuel-filled plane into a federal building just makes it worse.

But conservatives? Those supposed “patriots” when it comes time to buy yellow ribbons but not when it is time to serve? Nah, they love Stack, just like they love anyone who wants to violently oppose our nation internally.

Roger Ebert: The Essential Man – Esquire

brilliant interview and story on a guy I am increasingly in admiration of. If you are on Twitter, please add him to your follow list.

And here is Ebert’s response – or at least thoughts – on the article.

You really wish the guy hadn’t gone through the hell he has, not to mention that his friend passed so painfully and quickly. Then again, those things made him the man he is today, for better or worse.
