Going to Extreme – Paul Krugman

Krugman gets to the heart of the Tea Bagger problem.

“(T)oday’s G.O.P. is, fully and finally, the party of Ronald Reagan — not Reagan the pragmatic politician, who could and did strike deals with Democrats, but Reagan the antigovernment fanatic, who warned that Medicare would destroy American freedom. It’s a party that sees modest efforts to improve Americans’ economic and health security not merely as unwise, but as monstrous. It’s a party in which paranoid fantasies about the other side — Obama is a socialist, Democrats have totalitarian ambitions — are mainstream. And, as a result, it’s a party that fundamentally doesn’t accept anyone else’s right to govern.

“In the short run, Republican extremism may be good for Democrats, to the extent that it prompts a voter backlash. But in the long run, it’s a very bad thing for America. We need to have two reasonable, rational parties in this country. And right now we don’t.”

Keep Watching Your Kids Learn | GeekDad | Wired.com

I get a kick out of watching Gabriel process new things. That’s why this article had me nodding and smiling the whole way.

We love taking the little guy on trips because it’s like his brain jumps to a whole new level each time. Be it going home to Illinois for Thanksgiving or to San Diego to the zoo or just to the truck show last weekend, each experience gives his brain a big ol’ jolt.

It’s a blast, and I hope to keep on enjoying watching it happen.

Citizenship Quiz — History.com Interactive Games, Maps and Timelines

One of the hardest things my mom ever did was to invest the time to study for – and pass – her citizenship test. For an immigrant to learn our system of government so completely, and to HAVE to do so to gain the citizenship we all take for granted, is a lot of work. History.com has this citizenship quiz online. I’ve said for years that you shouldn’t be able to vote in this country until you can pass a citizenship test. Here’s a small taste of what you would need to know to do so.

I would imagine we’d have a lot less teabaggers in this nation once they learned how this nation really ran and why.

Road rage, accident centers on Obama bumper sticker – WKRN, Nashville, Tennessee News, Weather, and Sports |

Want to know why I think Tea Bagging Traitors are unhinged lunatics? Here ya go.

This lunatic bastard rammed a car – with a kid inside – solely because it had an Obama sticker on it. That’s it. That’s all it takes for a Rethug jackoff to try to kill you and your children. A bumper sticker.

So much for family values and the right to life.
