I probably need to whip together a couple of these prior to our next camping trip. Or heck, just make some to keep in the car.

Still on the subject of homebrewed safety gear, these sound like a bit of work but probably are worth it once you need them.

I read about the project mentioned in this article a couple years ago. Nice to see they are still working on it – and getting interesting results.
