Gee, after spending the past decade lying about early voting (not to mention public health, race, education, you name it), the GOP is trying to get people to early vote.
You can’t make it up folks.

DFL leaders, ACLU vow to step in after Mille Lacs County judge challenges felon vote law
Republican judges will do anything to restrict the right of certain people to vote, even – maybe especially – riding roughshod over the will of the voters.
Book ban attempts on the rise in Minnesota schools
The book burners are at it again. They cannot win.
Show up and vote against them whenever you can when they run for boards. Show up and let them know they are not welcome in your schools.
An art exhibition on ‘Deconstructing the Minnesota Flag’
We are debating changing the state flag up here. A local gent had already created one years ago but I guess they aren’t taking that one seriously. Here is a look at what may be coming.
From Elvira to Svengoolie, Local Horror Hosts’ Frightfully Fun History
A fun story on the background of horror hosts, including many I did not know about. Some are campy, some are edgy, even titillating – so be warned – but all are about having a good time with a genre that doesn’t look it on the surface.
Security issues
One new twist as I have gone through 2012 and going further into the past.
A lot of these old links have been built with old code, so they sure don’t look right sometimes.
Others, however, are bringing up security errors and browser warnings.
In those cases, I am not reposting them. The past can be dangerous and I’m not wrecking your computer because I wanted to remember a pithy comment over a decade old. It isn’t worth it to either of us.
The bittersweet reality behind chocolate
Even our simple pleasures mean a lot of work for somebody. And often, that work goes unrewarded.
Rachel Maddow on “Prequel” and the rise of the fascist movement in America
We have been here before, watching fascists rise. Hopefully we can do better at stopping them before the dying gets worse.
In France, workers build a castle from scratch the 13th century way
I am a sucker for folks using old tech to reproduce the past. This definitely fits the bill.
Progress redux
Still trying to harvest old posts. It stinks. That said, I have been utilizing Code Embed to get old videos and streams up (when it can). I may be using it all wrong but oh well.
Sometimes I can post videos but YouTube, CBS, and NBC hate to embed off their site. The Daily Show links are either dead or ad-blocked. Sometimes you’ll just see a Video Link entry. Use that.
Dead links mean either lost posts or edits. Bill Maher links are either dead or, since he’s become a worm, aren’t worth the work of recovering/redirecting unless the point was a very good one.
The work continues….
