Erm, well, um, isn’t this kind of obvious?

Meet Joe Ricketts — and Family
Another look at the Family Ricketts.
The father apparently was fine fronting $10 million dollars to pay for racist advertising, even to the point of making an introductory video to the enterprise.
Well, you know, until it became public knowledge and suddenly he was completely unaware of the project and had nothing to do with it.
Uh huh.
And of course his children back him 100%, even when some disagree with him. Well, on paper anyway.
The whole family needs to grow a spine. And buy a clue.
Why Do Conservatives Hate Freedom?
Conservatives hate freedom. This is historical fact, not hyperbole. Their own words and actions verify the argument.
As if bigotry, false economic assumptions (and outright lies), an inability to see that taxes create the system that keeps us safe and allow some to make ungodly sums of money, and just outright hatred of women, minorities, and anyone who doesn’t look or sound like them isn’t enough; yes, they hate freedom.
Why? Because when folks have freedom they embrace love, they embrace a touch of vice, a lot of fun, and try their damnedest not to be puritanical prudes and hate-filled assholes.
And that, at the end of the day, is what conservatives can’t stand.
End of story.
Ricketts family political activity threatens to scuttle Cubs reno plans | News
What an incredibly shitty day to be a Cubs fan.
Knowing that Daddy Moneybags of the clan (klan?) that owns the team is a rabid, dog-whistling racist shitbag is one thing. Knowing his brood is trying to extort $300 from the city of Chicago to fix up Wrigley while having at least $10 million ready to blow on racist advertising is even worse.
I’m still trying to get the family tickets to one of the Twins-Cubs games next month. I’ll still watch the team. But I’ll be damned if I am going out of my way to give this prick Joe Ricketts any penny I can avoid handing over.
And to hell with his kids for standing by him. If my dad sounded like a modern day Klucker, I’d call him out as a bigoted idiot like he’d deserve.
ALEC Exposed: Rigging Elections | The Nation
The right wing went after – and destroyed – ACORN, which basically got poor folks registered to vote. Meanwhile, ALEC is still in business, pushing for the right to shoot anyone whose skin color you don’t like and making it possible to disenfranchise the same poor and minority folks ACORN was assaulted for giving a damn about.
The world ain’t fair.
World News – ‘Can it be the end of nuclear power?’ Japan to shut down last reactor
Congrats to Japan for weaning themselves off the nuclear teat. Granted, they have repeatedly paid a high cost to the atom.
Still, why can’t this be us?
Norwegians rally against hate with song
I heard this in multiple venues yesterday. If only we reacted to every threat with this respectful solidarity.

Caine’s Arcade, Built of Cardboard and Tape, Brings Fast Fame – NYTimes.com
An update on Caine’s Arcade. They are now using the money to create a foundation to send similarly clever kids to college. Good stuff.
The cost of a nation of incarceration – CBS News
One of the worst things we have done in this nation is to make damn near everything a felony. Particularly things like drug use which can be cured at less cost than in just locking folks up.
Given the racial bias in sentencing for drug crimes, it just seems like a way to keep minorities off the streets – and away from the voting booth. Sunday Morning spent some time today on the issue.
It needs more attention but this helps.
