More wisdom from Robert Reich. This time he ponders the hypocrisy of Wall Street decrying “socialism” while getting rich off of it, while the rest of the country still faces real issues that remain unaddressed.

I had heard some mention of this fleet in some other articles awhile back, but someone actually went out and found the ghost fleet.

Kinda creepy and bizarre. It also puts into focus how hard hit some folks have been by the recession in ways we haven’t seen.

You know the economy is still bad when The Wall Street Journal is printing positive stories related to cities trying to deal with their homeless populations.

Just saying.

Surprise! Between George Jr. and the recession, we have a lot more families living in poverty these days.

Strangely you’ll notice most of the states with the hugest margins of the poor being those represented by right wing idiots.

Merely an observation.

Now, I’m sure that some of folks do this for convenience, but it turns out that some airline workers have taken to living in the LAX parking lot in order to save money.

I tell ya, we’re just one step closer to having our poorest citizens living out of storage units.

Good God. Yet another pity story about rich people suffering in the recession.

Seriously? You can’t buy your kid the new “it” phone for back to school and that somehow compares to people who can’t make house payments or provide enough for their families to eat?

Yeah, it’s all relative, but maybe these reporters should go interview people actually suffering instead of those mildly inconvenienced by the economic downturn.

I don’t agree with Paul Krugman on much, but his assessment on deficit spending in a recession is dead on the money.
