Dining with Dara: Bourbon isn’t just for Kentucky anymore | Minnesota Public Radio News
I have a few of these stories to post soon. They come out every Thursday but as you may have noticed, I have not been a diligent poster of late.
Anyway, here’s one about a bourbon being produced just over the line in Wisconsin.
And face it, that state NEEDS to be known for producing something that doesn’t leave a rotten taste in your mouth these days.
Dining with Dara: Hops to make locavores happy | Minnesota Public Radio News
I don’t want you all getting the impression that I drink a lot. I actually don’t. And I don’t want you thinking everyone in Minnesota drinks a lot either. I haven’t seen that. However, I *do* lik living in a place that is learning to take its beer seriously.
Dining with Dara: Duluth becoming state’s premiere destination for beer tourism | Minnesota Public Radio News
I realize the ridiculousness of the the following statement, but Duluth is our new San Diego.
By that I mean that it is a little over four hours away, is on the water, a definite vacation spot with good food and neat things to do.
I have had some great work experiences up there in the past and have enjoyed my time there with the family.
If you ever end up there, go to Pizza Luce. There is at least one in the Twin Cities, but do yourself a favor and go to the one in Duluth.
And now, an ever expanding beer scene. Don’t get me wrong, this is already in existence. Beer culture is alive and well. Carmody’s is probably in my top five bars I have ever been to. Nothing special about it except that the beer is amazing, the atmosphere even more so and it is just a good – but tiny – place to hang out. And now they have their own beer.
I can’t wait to go give all the new stuff a try.

Beer Charts of the Day
I may have posted this earlier in the year but wanted to be sure. So here is a chart showing the growing centralization of beer ownership in the world. Quality is sure to suffer eventually.

Or don’t. It will be there fresh and ready when you are.
