It has been awhile since I posted any music links but the Carolina Chocolate Drops make good music and deserve another update.

Here is an article about two diverse yet notable musical anniversaries from way back in 1936. Neat how both have stood the test of time.
I have always been a bit torn about protest songs. First, most of them are before my time and those who still use the same old songs – not to mention drum circles – seem to be as out of touch as those backward-thinking cretins they are protesting against. Second, other than making you feel good, it often does nothing to advance the cause. Hell, it probably turns off more people than anything.
That said, here are a few songs that have – in the main – stood the test of time.

This is just damn cute. Enjoy.
Not sure how I missed this interview/DJ set but I am entertaining myself by giving it a solid listen this morning.
You, too, can enjoy it as well.
Hugh Laurie makes good music. Check it out:
Sunday Morning had a nice story on his music, but they inexplicably haven’t put the video online.
An exceptional story about the song and the band itself.
