A few good points here and some not-so’s. Still a fun list. Read and discuss.

Wes: The Meat-Stick Bully | Ep. 205 | Bully Beatdown | Full Episode Video | MTV
I gotta say, I just heard about this show and it seems like we’ve found a fun, extreme way to use MMA for some public good. Check out this particular episode to get a feel for the show. You might find yourself as pleasantly surprised as I was.
The Cult 25: The Essential Left-Field Movie Hits Since ’83
I’m not going to say that I agree with every entree on this list, but with representation by Buckaroo Banzai, Shawshank, Repo Man, Spinal Tap, and Brazil, it’s hard to argue with much of it.
Scott Brown on Saving Sci-Fi From the Friday Night Death Slot
I meant to link this last week. It concerns how networks keep putting their sci-fi related shows on Friday nights.
Which, yes, has traditionally been the trend. Heck, we still watch Ghost Adventures on Fridays whenever it is on. Not that it’s a traditional scripted show.
I do, however, have a couple caveats to this bemoaning of programming ills. First, Miami Vice used to be on Fridays and it did okay. Second, Fringe just started up again and it was on last night (Thursday) and was originally on Tuesdays. It earned Thursday billing because it’s a damn good and damn popular show.
Yes, the author has a point, but it isn’t all cut and dried.

This just adds more fuel to the fire.
Patrick Swayze: A career in clips from Dirty Dancing to Ghost to Donnie Darko | Film | guardian.co.uk
The more we all collectively talk about it, the more I realize how many films Swayze did and what a variety of roles he had.
I know all the talking heads focus on Dirty Dancing or Ghost, but he really covered a lot of different genres. And, you know, I really can’t remember a time anyone ever spoke ill of the guy. That’s not a bad legacy to leave.
How Neil Patrick Harris Became Hollywood’s First (Openly) Gay Breakthrough Star — New York Magazine
Pretty cool story on Neil Patrick Harris and on how he’s managed to be true to himself and build up a nice post-Doogie career.
Mad Max fan moves from Yorkshire to the Outback – Times Online
Just wow.
This guy moved his entire family – and his custom car – from England to Australia just to open a Mad Max museum. I mean, The Road Warrior is one of my favorite flicks but…damn!
Good luck to him. And kudos to his wife for allowing him to dream like this. Hope his kids are having fun with it.
