I know of Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl from her Appetites appearances on MPR. I did not know she had a series highlighting Minnesota food producers and restaurants. I am going to take more notice. Here’s an old school creamery still doing things the traditional way.

What Happened to Paul Wellstone’s Campaign Bus?
The Star Tribune did a similar story months ago but I couldn’t share because, well, paywall nonsense. So here is an update of Wellstone’s bus, which has just been sitting in a field for the past too many years.
Apparently you may be able to see it on the road in the near-ish future.
Here is a KSTP story I missed:
And a documentary on the bus from almost 20 years ago:
Minnesota Reformer – Good parks are worth paying for
We are about to find out which states give a damn about the public good and which are open to strip-mining the Commons.
The latter may yet happen here, but I like our odds.
Yuen: Vile texts received by Black Minnesotans after the election reveal a bolder brand of racism
“It is a signal to the all the Realms that Earth is ready for a higher form of war!”
Same Klukkers and SS, new digital tools.
Get ready for Racism, Trump style. The Supreme Court gave him a free pass and they are crawling out of the woodwork.
Not a fish story: the DNR’s Minnesota State Fair cabin turns 90
We have not been to the fair since Covid, but I do love this building and the fish pond. If you ever got to the fair, you need to check it out. It *is* very busy most of the time though.
It’s fairly irresistible: Minnesota State Fair is a political proving ground
Did you know our state fair actually have some interesting political history? Give this a read.

Peggy Flanagan is poised to become the country’s first female Native American governor
Sure, it is Politico, but still a nice article about our Lt. Guv, and hopefully next governor.
Tolkkinen: Minnesota has become a state with two flags
No…
We have one flag. There’s an old flag that hasn’t been replaced or is being held on to by racists and curmudgeons.
That’s it.
I see a lot of businesses that went hard into this, buying pristine new versions of the old flag and trying to make some kind of statement by it.
Only statement they made is that they don’t want my money. And that maybe they hate Native Americans and have a kink for slavery.
Just get used to this one. It is a better look all around.

She could become the first Native American woman governor if Tim Walz steps down. Meet Peggy Flanagan
We could be in for a seismic demographic representational change in this state.
Flanagan seems good people. My only rip on her is that her husband, Tom Weber, was a great up-and-coming journalist for MPR before she became the lieutenant governor. He stepped down because of the perceived conflict of interest.
Frankly, given the conservative voice MPR has had since it changed owners, they’d have run him off anyway, but it was definitely a loss at the time.
