It’s “wait ’til next year” time again
A postmortem to the 2009 season for the Cubs, plus some early analysis for next year.
In short, damn near everyone got injured. Bradley was a miserable experiment: i mean, couldn’t he have been a dismal teammate while putting up good numbers too? Lilly was a surprise, because – seriously – who though he was going to have that good of a year? Lou FINALLY figured out Kevin Gregg can’t close and basically threw Marmol into the job. Better late than never I guess but hopefully Carlos figures it all out in time for next year.
Either way, no playoffs and a long road again waiting for next year.

I’ve always been confused by how Miguel Cabrera ended up going from the Marlins to the Tigers. I mean, sure, it was a good trade and all, but seriously, look at the guy.
He’s moderately gifted and looks smug. How could he NOT end up with the Yankees?
Turns out he just wasn’t ready. Now he’s a professional drunk who is a shitty dad and beats his wife to boot. Plus, accordingly to events in August, he likes to demean and threaten to beat overweight teenagers.
Yep, I’m sure he’ll be wearing pinstripes and playing with Jeter’s balls any day now.
