There are increasing thousands of reasons Republicans hate folks who do not worship, look, or think like them, but here are 10 big ones.

Zakaria: My interview with President Obama – Global Public Square – CNN.com Blogs
I like Zakaria. He did a decent job on this interview with the President.
I mean, after all the hateful and racist BS thrown at him, it is hard to be critical without somehow siding with the secessionist inbreeders aligned against Obama and still sound educated and earnest, but he does it.
Contrary to GOP propaganda, the President is actually doing what this country needs and hopefully they’ll still be choking on their hate on their deathbeds knowing he was right in most instances. At least, more correct than their traitor queen Palin would have been in the job.
Seriously, how close to utter insipidness did we actually come?
More here for as long as they keep it online.
One Town’s War on Gay Teens | Politics News | Rolling Stone
On of the more jarring things I have learned upon moving to Minnesota is that there are pockets of this state that are virulently conservative. And no, not in the fiscal “I hate paying taxes” kind of way.
I mean in the let’s use the Bible to jusify hating anyone who doesn’t look or act like us kind of way. You know, things you expect in the Deep South. Or Orange County.
Scumbags like this are represented by Michele Bachmann. No, I am not kidding. The kind of folks who keep her in office and on some religious crusade to bully children who might even think they are not conventionally straight. Enough to the point that they attempt suicide over the harsh words, bullying, beatings, and the willingness for adults to purposely look the other way as their neighbor’s kids are abused.
Thankfully, and oh so slowly, these rotten people and their culture of fear are making national news.
This needs talked about. This needs to be stopped.
And, honestly, decent Christians need to call out these folks. This is exactly the face of religion that turn off so many from listening to what is otherwise a good message.
Letters of Note: To My Old Master
Was your last boss – literally – a slave driver? This man’s was and he found a way to rebuke the man, politely even, when he was offered a chance to return to the plantation.
I don’t think I could have been near as civil. Sarcasm? Sure. But this has class *and* snark.
Conservatives Do Massive Facepalm Over Romney’s ‘Very Poor’ Gaffe | TPM2012
You know, for a guy who has been running for president for five years, you;d think Willard Romney would know all about the sound byte. While it makes sense to think so, if you did, you’d be wrong.
“I’m not concerned about the very poor, we have a safety net there.” – Willard Romney
He compared the “very poor” to rich people, implying, at least, that each deserved their status through their own fates. The poor, the argument goes, target=”_blank”>do not need help. They already have government cheese.
This, my friends, is literally the best the GOP can offer us for leadership and as mouthpiece for their ideas. The alternatives are Gingrich and Paul. Don’t even start me on Santorum.
That’s it. This is the best they can do. It is science fair presentation do and we don’t even have a baking soda submarine on display.
(Full disclosure: I *love* government cheese cheese sandwiches *and* baking soda submarines.)
Komen Foundation In Contortions Over Justifying Planned Parenthood Decision | TPMDC
Look, you may not want to fight, but you have got to start admitting that these asshats are at war with America. It isn’t enough to have their twisted religious views. They have to endanger lives to make sure that YOU conform to THEIR narrow-minded world view.
We don’t need to fly overseas to fight the Taliban or al-Qaeda. Their bastard brethren are already here.
This isn’t just about the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cross-Promotional Tie-Ins (Please Don’t Cure Cancer Yet Because Our Leader’s Face Looks Like An Extra From Escape From L.A. and Needs More Work Done), LLC. Inc. Licensed by Beelzebub.
But, anyway, the “What? We’re Not Politically Driven Assholes” reaction started today. It didn’t go well.
Here’s the thing. Andrea Mitchell has long been married to the cretin who helped conjure our crap global economic system. She *knows* when someone is a liar. And, after having been a breast cancer victim herself, you aren’t going to win points lying to her about your motives when it is related to breast cancer.
A round up of sorts from Alternet. Also, a listing of key recent events from Daily Kos.
Plus, bonus hypocrisy points for somehow excepting Penn State from their new rule. Abortions, no. Diddling little boys in the shower? Oh, that’s FINE with the Komen people.
Women for Santorum: It’s Never Polite to Look a Rape Horse in the Mouth (Hilarious Video) | Gay Blog | Gay News
This is so cynical it is almost painful to watch. Funny, but in a “Damn, people are so f’ed up they HAD to make this video” funny. Which, truthfully, is more sad than funny.
How someone like Santorum can still earn delegates in a major American party in the 21st century is a sad, sad commentary on this nation.
All the President’s Serifs: Typography on the Campaign Trail – Yahoo! News
Ya know, I finally get around to posting that story on Obama’s use of the Gotham font the other day and it turns out they modified it for this year’s campaign. Here is a look at it and an assessment on all the candidate’s type.
