Not that I expect Lou Dobbs or those other racists to apologize, but here’s the news about the occasional case of leprosy down south. Folks are getting it from armadillos.

Like I said, the bigots will refuse to hear the truth. They’ll deny ever tying Latinos to leprosy. Anything to avoid taking responsibility for their hatred.
Here’s the problem with conservatives. Well, there are many, many problems, but here’s a bad marketing decision.
In their hatred of having a black President, they’ve taken to calling him a socialist (or whatever) because they can’t openly call him the N word.
It sells well with the “we hate education” crowd. However, it is falling flat dead with young voters.
Why?
Well, one, a lot of them are in college and can actually learn what words like socialism, communism, and fascism mean. They can see communist China using capitalism to kick our ass economically. They see semi-socialist parts of Europe recovering from the Great Recession and having 32 hour work weeks, a paid year off or two for maternity leave, five weeks of vacation, and health care and great infrastructure.
Then they see the US with crumbling this or not and a bank/government/corporate scandal or theft every few days. And aside from the President and his party all they see are Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and company making common cause with racist anti-government militias a la McVeigh.
What the hell kind of conclusion do you expect them to make other than conservatives are lunatics more in line with the Taliban than with them?
Yeah, I know, this shouldn’t be that big of a surprise. The South is racist, Mississippi even more so.
And Republicans? Yeah, they’re cornering the market on bigots lately, even after Hillary Clinton’s PUMAs in the mix.
But 46 percent of those angry bigots openly stating they want to make my marriage and other “race mixing” couples illegal? That’s some bold honesty in this day and age.
Some folks still wish we had elected that Panamanian guy and his secessionist running mate to office.
I, for one, am continually glad we did not. Here’s another example of his poor judgment:

Congratulations America. We educate millions of foreign students, give them the foundation to be innovators and entrepreneurs, than, because our inept handling of immigration reform is in permanent limbo, they go home.
Once there, they start the companies that challenge our industries here.
This needs fixed, and quickly.
We also need to finally address our attitude problem towards immigrants. When we lived in Oklahoma, after 9/11 the Air Force ROTC goon-in-charge liked to march his cadets in full uniform, gear, and guns up the hill through the family housing areas – where most of the international students lived.
Some of these families came from countries where the soldiers are the cops. And whatever pass for justice wasn’t interested in fairness, legality, or the fate of the common man. Kids were yanked inside by terrified parents. The local campus police, to their credit, did everything they could to stop this behavior.
In many cases, the damaged was done. This didn’t happen before 9/11. This wasn’t a necessary task. The head officer actually bragged about what he was doing.
You just don’t need to change the laws to let folks know they can and should stay and make their dreams come true here. You also need to tell bigots that we ALL came from somewhere else and a person’s religion, gender, melanin tone, or whatever else they want to separate us by do not matter.
As Americans Muslims of all kinds are being smeared as terrorists and traitors on Capitol Hill, you gotta ask why we aren’t investigating these violent terrorists.
Oh yeah, they are racist white Christians. Nothing wrong with that apparently.
Right after I posted the Mother Jones article, I came across this commentary on the numbers behind the GOP’s actual need to reduce minority voting. This, of course, goes along with reducing the votes of the elderly and college students.
Wisconsin’s Tea Bagging Governor Scott Walker isn’t just out to take the rights away from public workers.
No, he’s got more in mind. Give him credit though, he’s at least thought this one through. He’s cutting Medicaid benefits to his citizens, BUT he’s increasing the amount of funeral expense money given to the indigent.
So, in “compassionate conservative” terms, you can go broke trying to stay alive – and the GOP won’t lift a finger to help with that – but when you die destitute, they’ll help get you buried and out of public view lickety split.
Once again, the combination of Republican hatred of education and the Texas Governor collides in yet another bout of stupidity.
Traitor Rick, gubner of the sovereign quasi-independent state of Texas, is concerned about all the Mexicans getting killed in Juarez in the drug wars. This is a highly commendable stance. People should not be shot just for where they live.
However, his concern seems to lie not in the abstract belief that life in sacred. No, he is concerned that Juarez lies in Texas and that he might be held accountable for those deaths.
Idiot.
