Who’s questioning women’s right to vote?

Women voting for Republicans confuse me. They are literally trying to take the right to vote away from women. It is on the table, yet, still, some women say “yes” to getting rid of their own rights.

Hell, I’m still confused why evangelical Christianity – if not the whole dogma at this point – is freely allowed to espouse hatred of women, gays, minorities, you name it, without censure. Without taxation. Without recourse and punishment for the literal abuse of children permitted inside the church.

Trump’s ‘God Bless the U.S.A’ Bible Was Made in China

It is always a grift. Trump’s bible – and, boy, are historians gonna have fun with *that* – is made in China. You know, the country we are supposedly in a trade war with thanks to Trump. The existential threat to our economy. Yeah, those guys.

Never mind the whole notion of a sin-ridden politician selling bibles for personal gain….

Speaking of things that should not be, the Secretary of Ed in Oklahoma has mandated bible training in public schools. Guess which “good book” is the only one approved? Yeah, the Chinese-made “Trump bible“.

It. Is. Always. A. Grift.

The One Sin White Evangelicals Couldn’t Forgive Barack Obama For

It was an instant classic when written and relevant since the Obamas took the big stage last night.

Racism, and the embrace of hatred, endorsed by nearly all Christian denominations in this country since the 1980s is why I don’t go to church anymore. Trump just doubled down on it and is successful in getting Christians to agree to the worst possible things.

School Vouchers Were Supposed to Save Taxpayer Money. Instead They Blew a Massive Hole in Arizona’s Budget.

I mean, I am not an education specialist or a journalist, but this headline – and assumption – are just ridiculous.

Pro-tip for modern American journalism. If a Republican says something is about saving money or freedom? It is about NEITHER.

At least for you. Vouchers are for sending public money to private institutions that can’t make it on their own. It is about tax breaks for folks who don’t need them. It is about denying children a proper education on the public end, and to shield children from properly learning about the real world on the private end.

It is about taking from the poor and kicking them while they are down some more for cheap jollies. That’s it.

If I were an employer, I’d hesitate to hire someone who hid from the world in homeschooling, or private/parochial schools without at least asking why it was done. You are getting an incomplete person, even with the finest instructors. Public schools *should* be better, I agree, but life lessons are learned from being challenged, not running away and saying, “screw you and your’s, I’ve got mine (on your dime)”.

A year after Minnesota became a trans refuge, ‘transplants’ make themselves at home

On the heels of one story about how the local county is becoming more left-of-center, here is one on how the whole state has set itself as an enclave for those merely trying to be their best selves.

Yeah, that’s it. No agenda, not trying to piss anyone off. Just trying to rugged individual in ways narrow minded folks do not understand, but should agree is their right to do so. But intellectual comprehension is not anything I have expected from conservatives for a very, very long time.
