Well, turns out the Redneck Republicans are throwing down the gauntlet and demanding that President Obama step down next week or else. Or else what? Dunno, they even pulled down the treason video they had threatening our democratic way of life.

They aren’t alone. Here is a timeline of other seditious events calling for either a violent overthrow or some kind of secession BS.

And some conservatives want to abuse the system to create some quasi-legal justification for impeachment proceedings because they can’t believe the President in an American citizen.

You know what the sad part is? I know a couple branches of my family are conservative, and while that sucks, it’s unavoidable in most families. The part that really blows is that some of them feed into this hate and racism and call it patriotism.

I just hate thinking that such a level of stupidity exists somewhere in my gene pool. That said, they are my cousins so maybe it isn’t congenital.

If Republicans think something might be good for the president, they’re against it — whether or not it’s good for America.

That – to be blunt – is the entire platform of the GOP these days. So much for their faux patriotic bullshit.

They want wars but won’t put on the uniform. They want to preserve all life, but only squander it on said wars or to execute anyone they can see. They don’t want to discuss euthanasia but want to force people to live like vegetables against their will, all the while bankrupting families by not offering health care reform.

And that’s just off the top of my head. Krugman addresses this toxic hate a bit more coherently.

Hell, even the GOP cum-gurglers at Politico are pointing out that the Democrats see Republicans as sandbagging hypocrites worthy of scorn. Which, while incapable of making a stance against their masters, is pretty damning by Politico in it’s own way.

Basically, from the Olympics loss to the jobs report to basically any bad news under the sun, the GOP is proudly laughing and mocking the President today.

The Rethugs are too chicken to publicly back the treason they have wet dreams about. Not-worthy-of-even-hating conservative online rag Newsmax had proudly hosted an article on how the military should “rise up” and forcefully – but peacefully, mind – take over the government and “resolve the ‘Obama problem'”. They have since wimped out and pulled the article.

This galls me to the core. These shitheads managed to steal an election in 2000, force a bunch of fear-filled jackasses to re-elect Bush in 2004 and finally realized that even with Diebold stealing seven million votes in 2008, they lost to Americans finally – at least for now – fed up with their nonsense. So they lose one election – and to a black guy, remember – and they suddenly want to throw away even the trapping of democracy and take over the government like a Third World backwater.

And they call themselves patriots. Go to hell!
