I was raised in what was apparently a fairly radical home so I really don’t see the argument against unions. I haven’t been in one for years but I have no problem supporting them. Like all things, yes, they are subject to poor and even criminal leadership, but hell, you still put your money in banks and people still vote Republican, right?
So, here is an argument FOR unions plus some more info on the history – and future? – of unions and the Democratic Party.

It offers an apology but a good reading of the press release shows that it doesn’t actually deliver an apology.
When did our society turn into one where mumbling words that sound like you recognize someone was offended by something you did, but don’t care to find yourself at fault pass as an actual apology?
I plan to raise my kid better than that. I hope the rest of you do too.
Minorities are making big numeric gains across the US. This might explain why even progressive states like Minnesota have suddenly turned into racist, gun-toting people scared of their own shadows.
Look, the US is going to be less white no matter what happens. If Caucasians don’t want to sow any more ill will against populations who already have legitimate grudges, this might be the time to be less vindictive and violent; not more.

Why is it that I can learn and hear more interesting things listening to 45 minutes of the BBC than I can from any equal or greater amount of time listening to American media?

From what I’ve heard thus far, the Extremes series has been very eye-opening and I hope it continues to show the world’s stark differences in both good and bad lights. As the corruption edition shows, not everything is as easy or as black and white as people like to portray them.

While I am the first to admit that I loathe what texting has done to our language, I *do* like that people have brought their regional slang into the online world.
