Interesting use and mix of the old and new. Funny how it took the Olympics to stop the government from ripping all these neighborhoods down.
For some interesting takes on these neighborhoods, may I suggest the following book?

One of my favorite authors is Daniel Keys Moran. He wrote – and is picking up the job of writing – a series called the Tales of the Continuing Time.
Honest, it is pretty good stuff. If he didn’t have some severe medical issues, you’d have heard of them as legend by now.
What is pertinent to our discussion, however, is liquor. One of his characters is very fond of something called smoke whiskey. It is special because it is distilled in space, which gives it a certain something you can’t get groundside.
Fiction, right?
Nay, says I. Check this out.
I have always enjoyed Malmsteen. Horrid lyrics and all. If you’re a fan, worth a listen.
Get yer learning on.

Annnnnd here as well.
Catching up on some stories I meant to pass along. This was a nice look at our past future. Maybe we’ll still see it’s like in our lifetimes.
It is going to be hard to top this “No shit!” moment.
