Apparently there is more news on how the olive oil we buy may be the quality it is advertised as. I swear I posted on this a couple years ago.
For something that is such a simple and prevalent food item, one hopes they’d get it right.

It is a beautiful world once you rise above the filth of humanity.
Obama the candidate really had a smart operation four years ago. One of those effective things was his branding, including great font usage. Let us hope the fonts still works, as does the messaging.
He really has to get across what he is willing to do once the possibility of re-election is off the table. By that I mean, he’s spend three years compromising with folks who have done nothing but demean his patriotism, his faith, his convictions, the color of his skin, and his family members.
Screw them. It hasn’t even resulted in much meaningful legislation. I want to see a president who not only points out how childish, cruel, and reactionary his opponents are, but how he plans to do his job despite them. Honestly, he’s got nothing to lose so he had best start making the argument that way.
Want to know why Republicans are worried so much about voter fraud? I mean, sure, yes, they definitely want to disenfranchise minorities, old people, college kids, overseas military personnel, and anyone else who might potentially vote for a Democrat.
But, also this. In Iowa, the GOP has shown that it is utterly incapable of handling a fair election on their own.
In a caucus process run SOLELY by Republicans, composed SOLELY by Republicans, they don’t know who won. They even – two weeks after the case – have had to throw out the results of eight caucus sites because they have no clue how those votes went. Hell, one site they left in had an adjusted total of 50 votes!
No wonder they don’t trust anyone else. They can’t even do it right by themselves.
I like this.
It needs said. More often, by more people.
Up until this morning, a guy, (Traitor Rick Perry), who was considered less effective than George W. Bush and who is a fan of Texas secession wanted to be considered a viable candidate for presidency of the United States.
Currently, a man who couldn’t keep a sacred vow to two women (Gingrich) wants to swear on the bible that he will “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”. And this, even as he vows to ignore the Supreme Court of the United States.
Each is part of a party whose platform is not to improve our economy, mend fences with a world that has reason to hate and fear us, nor find ways to fix our immigration, labor, environment, infrastructure, or a host of other issues. No, their stated goal is to make Barack Obama a one term president. For some, many I’m sure, that has everything to do with the color of his skin.
And you wonder why I am down on them.
Truth is, this nation thrives on stupidity.
There isn’t a conservative politician alive that doesn’t harp on “elites”. By that, they mean “people who went to college and actually learned something”.
I’m working a temp job, been unemployed for most of the past year and a half, and I’m an “elite” to the GOP.
Why? Because I think. I don’t let child rapist drug addicts tell me what to think on the radio like anyone ingesting hours of Lush Rimjob does every day.
I don’t think a failed quitter of a angry, racist governor of less people than live in my city of Rochester is a hero. Actually, given all the baggage, meth-addled children, illiterate comments, and moronic marketing, I’d almost feel sorry for her.
That’s just literally the tippy top of the pond scum you have to adulate to be a Republican these days. You have to believe that life begins the very moment a drug teenager ejaculates anywhere in the zip code of a ripe ovum. You have to believe the world began somewhere in the book of Genesis and no earlier. The seas are not rising, pizza is a vegetable (not to mention ketchup). Traitors from Jefferson Davis to Oliver North are heroes.
And so on.
But worst of all is the disdain of education. Kids are not supposed to learn how their bodies work. And they certainly should not learn that there are more than two genders. History only matters when written from the perspective of wealthy, mostly white, landowners. Slavery had no bearing on the Civil War breaking out. Etc.
And now this bit – again – with evolution and “Creative Writing”, err, “Intelligent Design”. Look, believe whatever makes you make sense of the world. That said, science exists. Don’t like science? Try this test.
You know what else started off as a theory? You know, like evolution? Gravity. You refuse to believe in theories, go climb up a tall mountain, or a building I suppose. That said, if a building, don’t use the elevator. Evil science made that.
Step out at the top and jump.
That simple.
God might save you, I’ll definitely allow for that, but that theory that Galileo and Newton and others worked on proving is probably going to turn you into mush on impact.
And that, at least, would solve a problem, if not make you change your mind.
A wide, vulgar, and hilarious list of what to call half-Mexicans based on their additional ancestry.
Willard isn’t one of us.
I mean, we already knew that, but he won’t tell us how much he makes so it doesn’t have a definite mark.
However, we DO know he made almost $400k in speaking fees, a number he has now said is not very much.
His “not very much” is enough, by itself, to put him into the top 1% of American earners.
It is certainly more than my family has pulled in together over a year. Hell, over a few years to be honest. Prior to our move, we were doing okay, or so we thought.
We were barely making a down payment on what Romney thinks is “not very much”.
I’d even settle for making “not very much” Mitt Money.
We Americans may not agree on what we will use our freedom for, but even the bigots at the Heritage Foundation are against SOPA.
Of course, they likely see it as a pro-Hollywood gimme and I just see it as propping up a dead and dying industry, like tax breaks for oil companies.
Either way, thanks for picking freedom of expression for once. Can I interest you in supporting marriage equality?
