10 Things We Can All Do to Protect Democracy

From back in January (I am slowly coming out of my medicated haze post-surgery and cleaning up links so I may have already posted this).

It seems Pollyanna-ish now to think we can save the United States from itself, but here goes. I have more of these. It will at minimum prove that not everyone was ready to cozy up to fascists, for all the good it did.

Boxed Up: A Portrait of an Immigrant Community Living Under Threat of Deportation

In Wisconsin, and across the nation, immigrants are getting rid of their possessions and hunkering down, waiting for the day militias pretending to be federal agents raid their homes and pull them away from their families for deportation.

Maintaining the safety of our food

Buckle up. This is about to get bad. Like Upton Sinclair-era bad.

José Andrés on feeding the needy, and feeding the soul

Good guy José Andrés on the very wild past few years.

As for not being political, I get that he’s got lives to protect but I do remember when he threatened to pull out of the old Post Office in DC after Trump initially went politically racist (instead of his regular racism) about Mexicans in 2017.
