I heard this interview yesterday and it reminded me that I wanted to post a Wired article on the same topic last week.
In short, it concerns an old Soviet “last strike” nuclear program that still exists to this day. Chilling stuff.

More on the Conservative Bible Project.
Plus, in a similar vein, a guy tries to legally get a church to stop praying for him and his family to die violently after he protested against the Air Force Academy turning into Talibangelical Central. Seeing as he is Jewish, he had a problem with a government military force trying to convert everyone to wingnut style Christianity. He basically wants the church to “stop asking Jesus to plunder my fields … seize my assets, kill me and my family then wipe away our descendants for 10 generations.”
More compassionate conservatism than he wanted apparently.
“A lot of us took it as more of a racial-type thing. I can only imagine how his players would feel. I know I wouldn’t want to play for him. He’s a jerk. He’s an –. What he said (about McNabb) was inappropriate and insensitive, totally off-base. He could offer me whatever he wanted, I wouldn’t play for him. … I wouldn’t play for Rush Limbaugh. My principles are greater and I can’t be bought.”
– Jets linebacker Bart Scott
Looks like the prospect of Lush Rimjob buying the St. Louis Rams doesn’t sit well with some NFL players.
Let’s hope every player – regardless of color – thinks the same way. They won’t, but you’d like to think something this foul would inspire them to do the right thing.
Margaret, I know it has been a few years since we last made the trip across the pond, but I was wondering if anyone is still alive in Europe? I watched a little bit of Fox News this weekend and I’m afraid everyone in Europe might have died from lack of access to healthcare. What a shame. They had such delicious food and beautiful art.
I damn near laughed my ass off reading this. Enjoy.
Christ is this guy fun to watch
Some damn serious info on what’s at stake with health care reform. Looks like we’ve got our work cut out for us.
God I suddenly feel old.
Just trolling through GeekDad’s archives and ran into this list of things our kids will miss out on. Granted, it’s a tad English-centered and I *do* plan to introduce my little guy to old consoles and shortwave radio, but still pretty much a spot on article.
*Sigh*
Yeah, the title is a tad daunting, but the article is a good argument for making sure your kids watch stuff that educates and inspires your kids to discover the world around them.
Here is an article on the variety of ways that the GOP has either bashed women or voted against them in recent weeks. From either discrediting maternity care or voting to essentially support the gang raping of female contractors, I hope these incidents get more press and prove to non-sexist Americans how wrong they are when they vote for Republicans.
I’m on a list mode today and remember this article from awhile back.
GeekDad hosts a similar list.
