The GOP as the clowns they are.

The GOP as the clowns they are.

Once again, given the way the loudest of the Talibangelicals brands Christianity as a hate-mongering bigot fest, it is no surprise that our nation’s young are turning away from religion. And hey, they aren’t alone. It sure the hell can’t be easy to be Muslim either, with Osama et al screaming death on one side and the GOP wanting to torture, deport, or kill you on the other.
Peace? Love? Brotherhood? Sure, you can find these things in a religious community, but you’ll have to look harder than you used to.

“I’ve had some friends that are actually homosexual. And, I mean, they know where I stand, and they know that I wouldn’t have them anywhere near my children.”
– Sam the Day Laborer
Read this and go to the actual article if you can stand it.
This scumbag has taken his 15 minutes of fame and run wild with it. First he tried to pick a fight with then-Senator Obama over the concept of restoring some fairness to the tax code over a tax rate for the 4 percenters that he certainly wasn’t going to qualify for.
I mean, let’s be honest. Even including what he’s getting paid under the table, the guy was probably barely scratching forty grand a year. I’ve been a journeyman contractor type and you don’t get top pay or top picks of jobs to get on.
So, from what I know, the guy’s name is Sam, not Joe.
He’s not a plumber.
He doesn’t make a quarter million a year.
From what I know, he’s divorced and probably doesn’t have a lot of access to his kids.
And, of course, like any GOP stalwart, he’s an anti-gay bigot.
Look folks, the more credibility and press we give idiots like this, the more the world thinks they represent all of us.
BONUS IDIOT: Rudy Giuliani, who sold out his friends’ and skipped their wedding (they are gay) to score political points with his Rethug pals. What a scumbag.
A whole gaggle of Republican talking heads for ya. You know the GOP mantra: “When in doubt blame/bomb a brown person”. They are really on their game this time around.
More on the radio dickweeds that are jumping with both feet into the hate pool.
My “favorite” of this ilk is unknown tool Jay Severin, who has a litany of racist slurs. Careful Michael Steele, you might find yourself out of a job if this windbag gets any more traction.
Yeah, I know that not ALL Republicans are racist: just most of the elected ones. And apparently all of the ones on radio. Look, if you don’t want to be labeled with such a wide brush as being the Bigot Party, MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY TO ELECT PEOPLE WHO AREN’T HATEMONGERS!
Just a thought anyway.
I enjoyed this quite a bit. Hope you do too.
It isn’t enough for Republicans to hate gay people.
It isn’t enough for them to deny them basic civil rights.
It isn’t enough to deny them to right to express their love of another by joining their lives together.
Nah, it isn’t even enough to smear their names once they’ve been horrifically executed.
Nope. To be a proper Republican. To be one who represents other Republicans in our nation’s capital, you have to diminish the death of an average American citizen, and the repeatedly offer fake apologies for saying the hate-filled shit you believe in.
Apparently she, and others of her ilk, forgot the “with liberty and justice for all” bit.
Pithy headline but a serious article concerning the potential demise of some of our natural wonders.
In a similar vein, I saw that Frommer’s has put out 500 Places to See Before They Disappear, which might not be a bad read once Gabriel is better suited for travel.
According to a recent Pew poll, 54 percent of Talibangelicals support torture.
Turns out that so-called Christians have no problems torturing people. I would further surmise that they probably get wood even thinking about using thumbscrews on a Muslim.
I’m not theologian but I am damned sure Jesus Christ would reject these idiots immediately. Then again, seeing as these are the same folks who watched the snuff film known as “The Passion of the Christ” about a dozen times or more, he probably already knew they were deranged.
To be fair, non-evangelicals mostly did not support torture for any reason. Too bad their voices aren’t heard in our national discourse.
And you wonder why I avoid going to church.
