Texans Are Using a Fast Food App to Map Hurricane Power Outages

Since the Texas-only electric utility doesn’t provide an outage map during the aftermath of a hurricane, one dude started using the Whataburger app to see which stores were open (and presumably still had power).

Any port in a storm I guess. Particularly in a conservative hellscape.

Louisiana plantation where historic slave revolt started now under Black ownership

When your state is hiding your history – and putting up the Ten Commandments instead of teaching truth – the only apparent alternative is to buy that history and tell the story yourself.

And then hope folks show up and bother to learn I guess.

I wish them luck, but long odds in getting the word out.
