Las Vegas also comes in dead last in a&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/blogs-and-stories\/2009-10-04\/americas-smartest-cities---from-first-to-worst\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">list of intelligent cities<\/a>. Yes, this place has a long way to go before we get some respect. Part of it is the transitory nature of many of the folks who live here &#8211; a lot of them are working on getting rich quick. Some of it has to do with the hands-off libertarian experiment that says government shouldn&#8217;t try to help improve schools, bring in museums, cultivate the arts, etc. And, honestly, this is a new town that grew out really fast without taking the time to worry how to grow *up*.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Either way, at least we&#8217;ve still got the meth-head zombie horde in Fresno to kick around.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, unfortunately&nbsp;this is not a surprise.
