The GOP is attacking Obama on race, with their flapping jaws and in attack ads in the South, and likely coming to a TV near you. The Clinton campaign still swears it isn't racist, but you couldn't prove it by their rhetoric.
I haven't mentioned the whole Jeremiah Wright thing lately because, frankly, it isn't an issue to me. I mean, seriously, I hope to God I never run for office, because the stuff I've heard in church is like the least of things I could be attacked on. Those of you who have ever partied with me can verify this. And still, I just know that the day Mom's Baptist preacher bashed the Catholic Church and the Virgin Mary as cult worshippers and his wife told me my dog was going to hell for being microchipped would probably kill a political career more than any amount of binge drinking I ever did. Full disclosure: that actually was the last time I ever entered that church, but still, I'm sure I'd get nailed for it even if I vehemently disagreed.
But going back to Wright, sure, I don't agree with everything the guy says, but actually put yourself in his place. If YOU had grown up seeing the stuff he had, you'd probably be just as pissed off.
More importantly though, the GOP kisses the balls of Falwell and Robertson and their ilk and none of THEM get bashed for those psychos beliefs. Hell, Billy Graham was/is an anti-Semite and NO president since the 60s hasn't kissed his ass. So what is the big frigging deal here?
