If Republicans think something might be good for the president, they're against it -- whether or not it's good for America.

That - to be blunt - is the entire platform of the GOP these days. So much for their faux patriotic bullshit.

They want wars but won't put on the uniform. They want to preserve all life, but only squander it on said wars or to execute anyone they can see. They don't want to discuss euthanasia but want to force people to live like vegetables against their will, all the while bankrupting families by not offering health care reform.

And that's just off the top of my head. Krugman addresses this toxic hate a bit more coherently.

Hell, even the GOP cum-gurglers at Politico are pointing out that the Democrats see Republicans as sandbagging hypocrites worthy of scorn. Which, while incapable of making a stance against their masters, is pretty damning by Politico in it's own way.
