Frankly, I love this story. It is about a Japanese fansub site that knows how much to abuse their customers and get away with it.
I've been working in IT or just technology for basically the past 13 years or so and you've got to understand that most of us view the rest of humanity as a pack of mouthbreathing dimwits. The things we say about you would make you cringe. I mean, in the main, you're dealing with simple machines and the average user can find ways to cripple an application or bust a printer than ever an entire tribe of chimps on roid rage and ecstasy couldn't if they really, really tried.
So to see a company actually embrace that antipathy just makes me smile.
