Google Maps glitch renames Henderson – Monday, Nov. 9, 2009 | 2 a.m. – Las Vegas Sun

Apparently my son was born in Rochester, NV.

At least, that’s what Google Maps says. It’s some form of screw up, and no one knows why, but part of Henderson (a big suburb of Vegas) is called Rochester. Check it out:

And check Google itself. As of this moment, it still isn’t fixed.

That said, Henderson *is* a real city. It exists, even if misnamed. Check out this story about Argleton, a town in the UK that only exists on a map. In reality, it’s a farm field.

Ah, the future. So full of mistake-free promise.

Jon Stewart Catches Sean Hannity Falsifying Footage To Make GOP Protest Appear Bigger (VIDEO)

I am shocked! Shocked I tell you!

FAUXNews’ Sean Hannity used old footage of an earlier Tea Party Traitor rally to make it look like people showed up to Bat Shit Crazy Michelle Bachmann’s recent anti-American protest.

As I said somewhere else, when you get your news from a two-time college dropout, don’t be so surprised when he basically lies to you to make his wingnut allies look credible.

John Stewart makes light of this in a way most of us can’t (Comedy Central video link)

And let’s not forget, Hannity believes the President knew about the Fort Hood shootings in advance and did nothing to stop them. Nice patriotic folks, these Republicans. I am pretty sure there is no memo ever written that says “Muslim Army Psychiatrist Determined to Strike at US”.

It’s okay for Bush to drop the ball and let three thousand people die to Hannity and his ilk, so Obama *must* have know this guy was gonna go bonkers and open up on a room full of fellow soldiers. Assholes.

Ninite Easy PC Setup and Multiple App Installer – Great For Win7 Upgrades

So, I’m in the course of rebuilding my home PC and finding out how out of date it is.

Oh well. One of the things I used to do was keep a flash drive of setup apps handy but I haven’t kept up on it and those are very out of date.

Then I found Ninite. It does a lot of the searching for the latest app business for you. Granted, it doesn’t let you pick where you want to install stuff so that doesn’t really work for me all the way (I like my apps on a separate partition) but if nothing else, it’s a great short list on what apps I *do* want put on my box.

Check it out if you find a need for such a tool in a pinch.
