Fascism in Europe: Rick Steves
Steves gets it, and goes there. Listen.
We Must Be Ready When Trump Invokes Insurrection Act.
Have a plan I guess. It *is* going to get worse.
10 Things We Can All Do to Protect Democracy
From back in January (I am slowly coming out of my medicated haze post-surgery and cleaning up links so I may have already posted this).
It seems Pollyanna-ish now to think we can save the United States from itself, but here goes. I have more of these. It will at minimum prove that not everyone was ready to cozy up to fascists, for all the good it did.
No shit
These stupid motherfuckers.

I take it back. At least a bit.
Ken Jennings bothers me. Still does. But seeing this reaction of his to MAGAts that are whining about our current economic reality is nice and surprising to see.

10 rules for dealing with Trump’s demands for capitulation
Ya know, if we, as a country, has decided to not give in to bigots and fascists in 2016 (hell, 2015 if the Republicans had told him, “Nah, you can’t be a candidate”), we wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place.
That said, we can stop doing so at any time. Now would be good.
10 ways to be prepared and grounded now that Trump has won
A few months into this shitshow (again!) but still good advice.
Former NFL player Chris Kluwe arrested after attacking ‘corrupt’ Maga movement
“Maga is profoundly corrupt, unmistakably anti-democracy and most importantly, Maga is explicitly a Nazi movement. You may have replaced a swastika with a red hat, but that’s what it is.
I always liked Warcraft. He doesn’t pull any punches and is usually on the right side of things. Pity he got railroaded out of the NFL.
A quarter of US shoppers have dumped favorite stores over political stances
We were having a family discussion about where our money goes – and doesn’t – these days.
We don’t hit up TrumpBurger (McDonalds) unless we are out and about and there just isn’t another choice (so far, so good). I buy a lot less Coca-Cola since they became ICE snitches. Target used to get about $150 a week from us. We can’t avoid them completely but they haven’t gotten even that weekly amount in total since they killed their DEI programs, and nothing over the past couple weeks.
Seems like we aren’t alone in this. Which is great since obviously no one is gonna move the needle based on my financial contribution alone.
But it goes other places too. I don’t give to NPR anymore. I probably should since, sure, they aren’t FOXNews but…. They have gone way out of their way to comply with the worst of us, in favor of mocking dead school kids, repeating outright administration lies without clarification, etc. They might not be my enemy, but they sure as hell aren’t my friend either.
John Leguizamo is trying to orchestrate boycotts aimed at certain companies to show them folks are paying attention to their actions. Not sure if this works or not. There is money to be made in hate these days but I just do not want to reward horrible behavior.
